EVERYONE WITH A PROBLEM CALL H1

I had a call from Hydro One today around 2:30pm about my account. The person I talked with was Donna Potter, public relations (yeah, right...)

It was a bit of a heated conversation.

She has my daily readings and admitted that once the smart meter went in my consumption jumped from 25kWh per day to over 40. My winter consumption jumped from 70kWh per day to over 100. When I asked how that can be she said I must have increased the temperature of the house!!

When I stated that the smart meter must be wrong, she denied it stating they never are. I made sure she stated that clearly, and asked again if the smart meters could be wrong. I emphasize, she denied the smart meters could be wrong.

I confronted her about the large numbers people complaining. She stated that of the 500 calls they get about consumption, one would be that a smart meter was wrong!!! When I told her to multiply that to all of Ontario, how many that would be, she said it was a 'rough estimate'.

At the end she asked me what I wanted. I told her that Hydro one is to go public and admit the meters can give false readings and compensate everyone who has been screwed. She refused to do that. Call ended.

Clearly they are going to dig their heals in, not unexpected. So will I.

I am going to post what I expect Hydro One to do to stave off the suit.

I urge everyone with a high consumption to call her at 1-800-419-5208, ex 3344. Tell Donna I sent you.

Ontario Power Bill Rip-Off: No Plan

http://tomadamsenergy.com:80/?p=414

"Notwithstanding yawning information gaps and the curtailment of existing generation resources due to excess supply, the Ontario Power Authority is recklessly signing contracts for new generation supply at a rate of over one billion dollars per week."

Where’s the power plan?

http://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorials/article/804531--where-s-the-power-plan

"The government should release its plan, sooner rather than later. Ontarians deserve to know how the lights will be kept on."

And how we will pay for it.

GET REAL TIME ACTUAL CONSUMPTION

I have bought this product:

http://www.brultech.com/price2d.html

Item ECM-1220 Plus. It's pricey, but you can get actual consumption right off the line. Nice thing is it's not fixed, which means I can take it to other's homes, connect to their computer, and get real data on actual consumption.

The very tool we need for the suit.

Four Komoka Residents Loose Their Homes over High Electrical Bills

This is correct. Will be gathering more information about this. Seems 2 years ago, right after the smart meters were installed here, 4 people hard huge, up to FOUR TIMES increase in consumption. They could not afford the bills, in the hundreds of dollars (for a small home with two people in them).

Calls to Hydro One got no where. Pay up or get cut off, was the tone. These people had no choice but to sell and leave.

I'll be getting more info on this as well as talking with the current owners in the next few days.

Also, my friend Dave said he brought up this mess while getting his hair cut. A storm erupted in the barber shop as the owner complained that this winter his bill went from $80 per month to over $300. Same with the other stores in the building. Even people there getting hair cuts weighed in with similar complaints.

Will investigate this more too.

Old Mechanical Meters Were Inaccurate

"The old mechanical meters were inaccurate." is the reply that Hydro One call centre people are telling you when you complain about your high consumption. "All these years you were ripping off Ontario Hydro."

Let me see if I have this right. You own a car that has a 100 liter tank and has gotten 100km per liter. For the past 60 years you have filled up at your favorite gas station that used mechanical pumps. One day you find they have replaced the entire chain of stations with digital pumps. You fill up to find that your tank is not 100 liters but 200 liters.

When you complain at the counter, the reply is "you have been ripping us off for 60 years, these new pumps are accurate." Thus all these years you have not been getting 100 kilometers per liter, you have been getting 50. So the car manufacturer lied to you too.

And this is not everywhere, your neighbour visits a different chain of gas stations, with digital meters, and his very same car as yours has a 100 liter tank on a fill up.

So what is the real story here?

Obviously the previous mechanical meters were calibrated by Measurements Canada. You don't go on for 60 years and not know millions of meters are inaccurate by 100% or more.

Thus, Hydro One is training their call centre people to lie with this story line.
